outcast TV series pisses me off!!

Nothing pisses me off more than a show that "could have been". I think I may have written about this before, back during season one of Outcast. The first two episodes were some of the best television I had seen and held such promise. The show went straight downhill from there. Piss poor writing and unbelievable situations marred what could have been an amazing tale.

Like an idiot, though, I gave Outcast another chance with season 2. I could not have chosen a better way to make myself increasingly angry. The show is, to some degree, guilty of poor writing decisions which affect all shows. For example, in science fiction or supernatural shows that have run for years, and the characters have already been through so many bizarre situations, yet, in the latest story, the main character says he encountered something strange and people still don't believe him.

Outcast takes this kind of lazy writing to entirely new levels. Children are not stupid. They know what danger is. They know what it means if killers are after them. This goes doubly so if they have already been through three or four close calls. They are not going to subsequently ask to go down the street to park to play. Even worse, they are not going to open the door for the first stranger who knocks on it.

And for the Coup de Gras. If you capture the ultimate bad guy, you do NOT untie him to let him go to the bathroom no matter what!! And that is where I turned it off…
