THINGS I NEVER NOTICED

The Incredible Hulk

As I continue to watch this show, I am surprised at all the things I never noticed back in the day. For example, this show could not have been cheap, with episodes shot in New York, Vegas, Chicago, San Francisco and even Hawaii. Most TV shows don’t travel that much, and usually have Vancouver B.C. sub in for most cities. Also, considering that there was no CGI at the time, this show had helicopters flying around, planes crashing into things, cars flipping over, and many other set pieces that, back in 1977, all had to be done for real, in front of the camera, whether at full size or with miniatures. They were not playing around when they made this series.

I was also surprised to see young versions of so many actors who went on to bigger things, like Martin Kove, who went on to play John Creese in The Karate Kid films and Cobra Kai. He also appeared in Rambo: First Blood Part II and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The show also featured Andrew Robinson, who went on to appear in Hellraiser, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and The X-Files, and Grand L. Bush, who would later be seen in Lethal Weapon, Diehard, Colors and Street Fighter. There were a couple of villains I recognized too, but I couldn’t place them off the top of my head, except maybe Lance LeGault, who would later find himself chasing after The A-Team.
