STARTING TO SEE IT

4K Look Dev Test

I think I am starting to see a path to making this all work. While I was enamored with the super high-res, A4 600 DPI resolution image, I think the truth of the matter is that I never gave 4K a fair shake. Naturally, I have to work differently at the lower resolution. I am making something for the screen, after all, not for print.

There are some drawbacks to working in lower resolutions, (like the bucket tool leaving tiny holes in sharp corners) but it is a lot faster, and the tablet doesn’t get as hot. Trade offs, am I right? As I pointed out before, most anime is mastered at 1280×720, but the drawings are done pencil on paper. They also have their magical Retas Paint Man to color it. It does things no software on the iPad can do. Either way, I think I got it. What I want to work on, now, is my character faces. Those still need some love.
